Four A's Resource Library Open to the public!
Thanks to a grant from the National Library of Medicine, the Four A's proudly announces the opening of their HIV/AIDS Resource Library. The library is open to the public Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is located at the Four A's offices at: 1057 W. Fireweed Lane, Suite 102.

HIVInsite contains information in four broad areas: medical, prevention, social issues and resources. The site provides access to many HIV/AIDS publications, in-depth information on key topics and much more.
Another new site, it bills itself as a "comprehensive resource to improved quality of life," and includes treatment and nutrition information, information about HIV testing, resources, and a section on "money matters."
The AEGIS-AIDS Education Global Information System-website is not as flashy as the newer sites, but is a great repository of information. This website includes the CDC's AIDS Daily Summary and HIV-related articles from major newspapers. The site provides access to AEGIS' very large library of HIV/AIDS newsletters and journals.
The Body lives up to its billing as a "multimedia AIDS and HIV information resource," and includes information on safer sex, HIV testing, treatment, alternative therapy and coverage of recent conferences. There is also a "Quality of Life" section that covers mental health, legal, financial and spiritual aspects of living with HIV. Online forums allow users to share their experiences with others.

Gay Men's Health Crisis
This comprehensive treatment website offers information in formats ranging from "Quick Sheets" on hot new topics to fact sheets to in-depth discussion papers. Also available online is PI Perspective treatment newsletter, slides from Update Town Meetings, hotline memos and action alerts from the Treatment Action Network. Much of the information is available in Spanish.
Provides online access to Treatment Issues magazine.
National AIDS Treatment Advocacy Project
Includes position papers on the latest treatments and therapies, information about HIV drug development, the newsletter NATAP Reports, and comprehensive reports from conferences.
HIV/AIDS Treatment Information Service
A collaborative project of the CDC, the NIH and other federal organizations, the site includes the newly released DHHS HIV treatment guidelines and NIH "Principles of Therapy".

The AIDS Community Research Initiative of America (ACRIA) is a non-profit community-based AIDS research and treatment education center. In conjunction with recognized leaders in AIDS research and treatment, primary-care providers, and people living with HIV disease; ACRIA:
- identifies scientifically promising therapies for AIDS and HIV-related illness, designs and implements studies on these interventions, and submits the findings for publication;
- conducts research geared towards the further understanding of HIV disease, treatment, and prevention; and
- provides education about AIDS treatments and research to the communities affected by HIV/AIDS.
This site by the CDC has resources on HIV and other STDS and downloadable information about assessing risky behavior and information on how to turn risky behavior into healthy behavior.
This site features information about the Project and its upcoming events, as well as press releases and articles about HIV/AIDS prevention. It also includes safer sex guidelines, instructions on how to use a condom, an illustrated review of various condom brands, and an extensive links section.

Includes information on prevention media campaigns, publications and a collection of slides and graphics.
There's a clever new interactive website designed to reduce HIV transmission among young gay and bisexual men of color. My Sexy City is a joint project by Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC) and AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA). The edgy, animated site targets 18 to 29 years olds because they account for “85 percent of new transmissions” in large urban areas, says George Ayala, Ph.D., who co-developed the site.

AIDS Treatment Information Service
ATIS is the government's primary treatment information site. Most major treatment-related documents prepared by government agencies are posted here, including the recently released "Guidelines for the Use of Antiretroviral Agents in HIV-infected Adults and Adolescents" and "The Report of the NIH Panel to Define Principles of Therapy of HIV Infection," new draft recommendations for anti-HIV treatment for pregnant women and recent guidelines for the treatment of HIV positive infants and children.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
The CDC website provides general information about many aspects of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, STDs and other health-related issues. The website includes links to the CDC's AIDS Daily Summary (a collection of news briefs from the press and medical journals) and the agency's "Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report".
CDC's National AIDS Clearinghouse
A good starting point to find many types of information about HIV/AIDS. Some of the information overlaps with that available through the AIDS Treatment Information Service, but the clearinghouse also provides much non-treatment-related information, including sections on HIV prevention and HIV/AIDS issues in the workplace.
