RAPP is a community-based program that relies on peer outreach, small group activities, culturally appropriate reading material and support of local organizations and businesses to help women, especially African-American, Hispanic and other ethnic minority women, and their partners reduce their risk for HIV transmission by using condoms consistently.
The Core Elements of the RAPP Program are:
- To develop and run a peer volunteer network
- Conduct peer encounters
- Recruit and maintain a community network
- Hold small group activities
- Develop a social marketing campaign that includes role model stories
