Volunteers are essential to Four A's. They help organize and operate all major fundraisers and educational events. Volunteers are also vital to our client services and office operations.
There are many volunteer opportunities including leadership and management opportunities. People with a strong sense of teamwork and lots of energy are especially encouraged to apply. Download our volunteer application and send or drop it off to 1057 W. Fireweed, Suite 102, Anchorage, AK 99503 or apply online.
Current Volunteer Opportunities Include:
Nursing Home Volunteers: we occasionally have clients who are in a nursing home and we are looking to have a volunteer visit them Monday - Friday for 1 hour a day. Please call 263-2060 for more information on this volunteer opportunity.
Reading Archive: volunteer will organize the readings at Four A’s library-style and also write blurbs about the longer publications. Reading items include: novels, magazines, journals, etc. The volunteer may also research readings that are relevant to the Four A’s for the purpose of acquiring.
Health Fair Volunteers : volunteer at our booth at Health Fairs in the Anchorage and Mat-Su Valley area. We provide all the items that will be placed on the table and give you information on how to answer questions that may be asked by people who will approach the table. It's a great job if you are a people person!
Buddy-to-Buddy: the Four A’s in conjunction with Providence Health System’s Faith in Action volunteer program is seeking volunteers to be buddies for HIV/AIDS clients in need. Buddy activities and time commitments are quite diverse and range from home visits to driving clients to appointments to meal deliveries, and more. Volunteers must complete two training courses: Four A’s HIV 411 and Faith in Action’s care course.
Often, a lot of people sign up for the same area of volunteering which means that there may not be a current need/opening. If this happens, you will be given other options for volunteering or you can choose to be put on a waiting list. We appreciate your patience.
Four A's is a place to find friendship and trust. We offer a variety of activities for our clients, their family members and our volunteers to meet and support one another. For further questions about volunteering contact our Jon Benorden, our Community Outreach Coordinator, at 263-2060 or jbenorden@alaskanaids.org
